Trouble in Mudbug, the first book in the Ghost-in-Law Mystery Romance series, takes place in the Louisiana bayou. Maryse is a scientist working on a cure for cancer. She spends most of her time cooped up in her cabin on the bayou amidst the gators and other wildlife, studying the properties of the local plants. Maryse thinks she’s perfectly content until her boring existence is shaken up when the mother of her estranged husband dies, leaves her an inheritance, and then turns up at the wake as a ghost that only Maryse can see. Enter Luc, a government agent operating incognito who is secretly investigating Maryse.
This is a fast-paced mystery series with a lot of humor and colorful characters. For the current free price for the Kindle version, it is well worth checking out the first book in the trilogy, followed by Mischief in Mudbug and Showdown in Mudbug.
